Where can i find drop-in play?
With "open" or "drop-in" play, simply show up to play with others who drop in. Depending on the number of players, players rotate in and out after each match and skill level groups can be created. A "challenge court" is often available for advanced play (see below).
We organize daily drop-in play (weather dependent) at the Eastmont Park Pickleball Complex, 255 North Georgia Ave, East Wenatchee. Check out our current open play times on our home page calendar.
How does open play work?
Just come and play! All levels are welcome.
We organize our drop-in play around skill level into four groups when we have enough players (May through mid-September is peak time!):
Beginner - for those just starting out
Advanced beginner - for those comfortable with rules and basic play, under 3.5
Intermediate - 3.5 to 3.9
Advanced - 4.0 and above
We also often set up a "challenge court" for competitive play.
Which level should you be in? If you often lose your games by more than 7 points, consider dropping a level. If you often win your games by more than 5 points, consider leveling up.
(If this sounds confusing, don't worry! Friendly club players will be there to help guide you.)
Look out for our free Intro to Pickleball sessions on our home page calendar (or sign up for our mailing list). The WRAC also sometimes offers a free beginning class.
After an intro course, start at our drop-in play times. You'll find players who are friendly to beginning and recreational players, and others starting out like you!
How do I get started as a beginning player?
What's a challenge court?
For advanced players, we often establish one court during open play as a "challenge court." Match winners stay on as a team to play the next challengers, who wait courtside for their turn to play.
Players are welcome to alternate between the challenge court and open play throughout the drop-in period. Wait at the challenge court if you want to challenge the winners, or move your paddle to the waiting drop-in stack if you'd like to rotate into the regular courts.
We organize our drop-in play and club events around skill level so everyone can play and improve their game.
Join the club and check out our home page calendar for upcoming events.

Where can I set up private play?
If you have a set group of players you'd like to play with, you can go to any of the public courts listed above (outside of open play times) on a first-come-first-served basis. Contact the WRAC for private court reservations.
